This Wednesday morning, 5-6p students are introduced to linocut printmaking, a traditional form of relief printing with a rich artistic history.

They learn how this technique has been used by artists from early book illustrators and printmakers to modern designers, and how it allows images to be reproduced in multiples.

Pupils design, carve and print their own lino blocks, developing skills in drawing, planning, craftsmanship and safe tool use while exploring pattern, contrast and composition.

This process builds confidence, creativity and an understanding of how images are created and shared.
