The children have collected objects in the forest and have carried out maths investigations around grouping and sorting.
In one activity the children used many examples of the same object to sort into groups which have the same number. This prepares the children to be able to solve repeated additions and multiplication problems.
In another activity the group sorted the objects they had found in the forest according to their physical attributes, working on categorisation and classification.
