Since the beginning of the year the classes have been visiting different forest in Geneva. The days when the children go on the bus with Katia (always a very exciting moment!) they go to the forest of Versoix. They arrive at the ‘cabanes des bûcherons’ and walk through the forest to the ‘lonely tree’ and explore the surrounding areas. There is a river in which they can see frogs and experiment with water.
The story of the lonely tree
The 3 year old class came to the forest and they noticed that there was one tree who stood apart from the others. They wondered if this tree was lonely. The decided to make friends with it and sit with it to have their snack. They eventually built wooden benches around the tree and it became their base in the forest. The even wrote it songs and poems to cheer it up!
