Our students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8P have the opportunity to participate in a sailing program in collaboration with the Versoix Nautical Club Sailing School. During five sessions, they sail aboard a boat RS FEVA or an “optimist”, supervised by an experienced instructor. The accent is placed on listening, collaboration, and team cohesion.
Each session, which lasts 1h30, is organized around four main areas :
- Navigation and interpersonal skills : developing relational and behavioral skills ;
- Navigation and technical skills : controlling sailing maneuvers and techniques ;
- Safety and regulations : understanding maritime rules and learning how to react to the unexpected ;
- Environment : raising awareness of the lake’s ecosystem.
