This morning, we contacted the Senegalese school of Pire, called Khaly Amar Fall, with whom we have an ongoing exchange.
The headmaster, Mamoune Diop, and his students—who are also eco-guides—wanted to learn more about how the ecology committee works in our school.
So, we prepared a presentation before the call. From the very beginning, we felt transported into their classroom, where the eco-guides from Khaly Amar Fall were excited to listen to us and ask questions!
We have been in contact with this school for over 10 years.
It was wonderful to see how other schools work on their eco-projects and to witness everyone’s passion for being part of an international group made up of diverse individuals.
What was truly amazing was realizing that each school has its own unique way of doing things.
It was such a fun and inspiring experience to realize the scale of the global eco-family!
They were inspired by our experience, and we were also inspired by the way they carry out their role—especially during recess—to create a pleasant environment and a friendly atmosphere.
They even invited us to their home to share a meal of chicken and rice!
We loved the experience and are looking forward to contacting them again soon, as we already have new questions to ask.
